    Can Materialism ruin marriages?

She married him for his money and both materialistic partners   have made money their priority their unstable marriage shows less communication,  a weak  foundation, and low self-esteem. Do you think materialism is a good aspect of  any marriage?

I believe it can absolutely ruin a marriage.  Marriage is not easy and it takes work, especially if you have children. If you make anything a top priority other than your marriage/family and don't nurture it, it will die.

Your point is clear  in a marriage team work is required and family should be part of the priority well said thank you

Yes, just about anything can ruin a marriage. All it takes is for one person to be unhappy.
The goal is to find someone who shares your same values, wants the same things for the marriage as you do, (naturally) agrees with you on how to obtain those things and last but not least have a (mutual) depth of love and desire for one another.
There are only two ways to experience joy and peace of mind in relationships: we either get what we want or we learn to be happy with what we have.

DDE, I understand "Materialism" is the question. I stated it could ruin a marriage but I also noted this applies for (anything) if one person is unhappy or if the couple is not on the (same) page. Opposites attract divorce attorneys!

Disputes about money seem to be more often than any other in our  marriage.  I come from a more affluent background and him from a very poor background financially. It takes much effort not to talk about it, even though it needs to be talked about. We try to avoid the subject, but it is a necessary part of living. It takes selfless effort to compromise on most expenditures. I hate money!

The more money one has the more problems arise. It is better you don't get on to that topic of money thank you

Yes its true that materialism always ruin marriages, friendships and other true relationships. This happens when money involves in these true and genuine things.
Love should always be unconditional and if someone tries to apply any condition, the results will be no good, conditions as we know always are material so we should stick to immaterial things and do not let money destroy our relationships
